Pre-Purchase Inspection

Buying a used caravan is very like buying a used car. They are both exciting purchases, they are both expensive purchases and both can develop into something of a nightmare unless care is taken before parting with any money.

Caravans are also becoming more complex with a lot of technology hidden behind the panels with things like complex sound systems replacing what might once have been a car radio mounted in a facia panel.

External panels moulded in various plastics look much better than flat aluminium sheet but bring unexpected little problems of their own. Typical of this being the almost invisible hairline cracks that can appear at panel edges or mounting points after perhaps nudging a fence post. These can allow water to get behind the panel eventually leading to problems with damp.

Almost invisible hairline cracks can lead to grief

There are many similar little surprises both inside and outside modern vans that are not always obvious and are easy to miss when buying your next one.

It is well worth considering having a little help during your next purchase by commisioning a Pre-Purchase Inspection. Having a written report in your hands can either make the purchasing decision much easier or help you to walk away from what could turn out to be a painful experience sometime in the future.
